Person of Interest has the team at the CIA watching over every person in America with an eye on 9/11, but they are also using Big Data to track down terrorist threats. But there is a dark side to their surveillance, which focuses on social media sites like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. With programming genius Grace showing them how to focus more on these websites rather than government-sanctioned outlets, public behavior can be observed up close without any worry of what might come next. This episode is full of suspenseful scenes that will keep you biting your nails throughout the show. It focuses on the threat of a bomb threat, and if the threats are real or not. With the help of Finch and his team, they can find out if their threats are credible or not by using social media and other various forms of surveillance. The story is about a man who was injured in war is now back at home with his girlfriend and they were planning on getting married. However, he starts hearing someone else's voice that was calling out to him to do certain things such as remember numbers and talk about numbers, which he knew nothing about beforehand. He realizes that someone is talking to him from the past... or is it? This episode is so intricate and so interesting. To be honest this episode caught me off guard because I was thinking that they were going to have an episode about Reese getting married, but the storyline was so brilliant. The story seemed quite predictable at times, but I'm hoping that they will continue to use this story line for the rest of the season. Reese starts getting phone calls from a woman who claims to be his girlfriend who is now trapped in a dream state. Reese tells Finch to help her escape her 'nightmare' by finding out what it is she wants, which leads them down a path of finding out she's actually his mother who disappeared years ago when he was young. The topics that this episode talks about are mental illness and the effect that it can have on a person's life. Reese finds out who his mom is, which makes him go to a deep depression because he didn't know she was alive. He starts thinking that she left him or was murdered, but then he finds out that she had mental issues and left him on purpose to help Reese with his own troubled mind. Reese is now trying to fix his relationship with his mom, Finch tries to find out what's wrong with Reese's mind and the Machine finds out what's wrong with Reese. The storyline of this episode is really interesting because even though it may seem like a predictable storyline, it turned out to be something else. The Machine has an attachment to Reese, which I didn't see coming, and it felt like the storyline was leading up to Reese finally getting married. But instead he found out that his mom has mental issues and now he's trying to help her out. So now Finch is trying to use the Machine to understand what's wrong with Reese, which I'm excited to see how that turns out.
